Abandoned Puppy, Found In Fridge, Gets Amazing Photo Shoot With New Family

In March, a darling puppy named “Owen” was adopted from the South Plains SPCA, in Lubbock, Texas, by a couple who decided to celebrate their new four-legged family member in a creative photo shoot. Adopters Clarissa Quintana and her boyfriend, Ivan Figueroa, had been searching for the perfect pup to add to their lives and when they happened upon Owen at the shelter, they knew that he was “the one.”

The couple learned that their new puppy had survived a rough start in life – little Owen and his littermates had been abandoned in an old fridge with their mom.

The knowledge that Owen had survived a difficult past, coupled with the promise of great things to come in his future, prompted his family to share the exciting news of his new life with them in a special way. Clarissa told Shelter Me:

I really just wanted to do a puppy announcement that represented Owens story to show our friends and family. I really hope people are willing to open their hearts to the idea of adoption and give animals a second chance.

The couple reached out to photographer Shelby Beauregard for help with creating a special, celebratory photo shoot in honor of their adoptive puppy. Beauregard not only managed to capture amazing images of the family, but she was also inspired by their story – she told Shelter Me:

I just want to say how honored I was that Clarissa had contacted me to do this shoot. Owen has a great story and it really shows people how bad some puppies have it, I actually teamed up with the South Plains SPCA (who they got Owen from) and I am now offering free of charge adoption shoots for other animals as well taking photos of the hard to adopt animals! This has been a blessing!
