A beautiful, striking and people-loving dog has been homeless for over 800 days. It sounds absurd, but it’s true. The five-and-a-half-year-old dog, named “Jubilee,” has not had a home since her owner surrendered her to the Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelter in New Jersey so many years ago.
On May 20, the shelter issued a Facebook post on Jubilee’s behalf – explaining how the lovely dog has been passed by, time and again:
Over 800 days waiting in a shelter…..seems absurd, doesn’t it?
Jubilee came to us in February 2015 when her owner gave her up by claiming that he found her as a stray. She was with us at AHS/Popcorn Park for well over a year and was truly loved by all. We promoted her so much, recommended her to so many adopters, but she kept getting passed over.
When the toll of being locked away, without a family of her own, became apparent, Jubilee was transferred to the Tinton Falls location in order to give her a “fresh start,” and a chance to be discovered by new people. Sadly, Jubilee has been at the new shelter for months and she is once again being overlooked and passed by.
The shelter has noted that Jubilee has many glowing attributes:
She is fun-loving, playful, active, but very, very well behaved.
It is Jubilee’s inability to live with other cats or dogs which seems to be the deal-breaker. The shelter remains hopeful that there is someone out there who is just the right fit for this lovely girl:
Surely there must be someone out there that is looking for one big lump of love to fill your heart and home?
