Kristen Bell Hosts “Shelter Me: Hearts & Paws” Premiering on PBS This May!

PBS is rolling out it’s sixth installment of their, docu-series, “Shelter Me” this month. Perfect timing for, May’s National Pet Month. The series, was created by filmmaker, Steven Latham, who based the idea for show on his own desire to spread positive awareness of rescue animals, shelters and the people that work tirelessly to support them.
Celebrity animal lover and advocate, Kristen Bell, hosts the latest episode entitled, “Shelter Me: Hearts & Paws”: The hour long, emotionally charged episode, like the previous “Shelter Me” installments, will feature different stories, including one centered around award-winning artist and “Mutts” creator Patrick McDonnell and the inspiration behind his “Shelter Stories” series. “Shelter Me: Hearts & Paws”, also showcases Cat Town Café, the first-ever cat café, that partners with its local shelter to provide an innovative way to showcase cats and boost adoptions

Shelter Me is an inspiring series that celebrates the human-animal bond with uplifting stories about shelter pets. Shelter Me was created and is produced by Steven Latham. The project also includes a website – – which enables anyone to create and share profiles of shelter pets to help increase adoptions. Shelter Me works closely with other animal welfare organizations to organize effective spay-neuter and humane education programs and helps develop and implement life-saving projects directly at animal shelters.
