“Paint Your Pet” Event Raises Money For Local Humane Society

The Uncorked Artist, located in Anderson, South Carolina, has found a way to give back to the Upstate community while at the same time offering a lot of fun to budding artists. Their March 2 event benefited the Humane Society of Anderson. The next event is planned for March 22.

Created in 2016 by owner and instructor Cindy Morris after a visit to Charleston several years ago, Cindy was visiting some friends and was invited to an “entertainment-style” art class. The first thing that came to mind was

Wow, our girls’ nights out have really changed…we’re going to paint?!?”

On March 2 Cindy used her talent and love of animals to guide a group of enthusiastic pet owners to her Uncorked Artist event where pet parents immortalized their beloved pet to a canvas.

Signing up for a class is easy. First click here to register online for the $50 class via their website, then send a picture of the pet you would like to paint via email to Staff@TheUncorkedArtist.com at least three days prior to the event.

When you arrive at the studio you’ll be presented with a 12 x 18 canvas that has your pet picture (sealed and primed) ready for painting. The background photo gets completely covered as you paint your original masterpiece on top, but because the proportions are exact, your painting looks just like your pet when you’re done!

Everything is provided in the $50 fee except for snacks to munch on as you work. The Uncorked Artist provides the paint and brushes. You’ll spend the next three hours painting your pet and making new friends as inspirational music plays in the background.

This is unlike their “normal” paint parties because each person will have a unique pet photo and there will be very little step-by-step instruction, but there will be staff on hand to help you select your palette, assist with any questions you have, and to offer suggestions if needed. You’ll work at your own pace, independently, not along with the rest of the attendees.

The next Paint Your Pet night is scheduled for March 22, 2017, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Additional information can be found on The Uncorked Artist’s event by clicking here.
