Homeless for eight years…Will work for family. A simple cardboard sign sums up the plight of an American Staffordshire Terrier Mix named “Auburn,” who has been waiting for a family of her own for the majority of her life.
In the thousands of days Auburn has been at the Better Days Animal League in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, she has been passed by, time and again.
The non-profit animal rescue organization is doing its utmost to help Auburn find her own family – she has repeatedly been featured on the agency’s Facebook page, and a lovely video of her was recently created to help garner much needed attention.
Auburn’s Petfinder biography describes her personality:
She loves to cuddle and get belly rubs, and she’ll do anything for a treat! When Auburn sees a car, she is ready to climb on in and go for a ride. She’s beginning to slow down in her older years and is on joint supplements to help with her aging bones. Having called a kennel home for so many years, Auburn’s dream would be a soft bed and a warm bed for her remaining years!
Though Auburn is now a senior dog, who is a bit slower than she was in her youth, she still has plenty of life to live, and of course, love to give.
The rescue agency caring for Auburn would like to see her join a family with no other dogs – someone who can shower her with love and attention. Someone who can make her golden years exceptionally special.
