Sweet Soul Has Lived At Shelter For 600 Days

A sweet soul, by the name of “Dawson,” has been living at an animal shelter in Wantagh, New York, for 600 days. Back in 2015, the three-year-old pit bull was picked up as a stray and then taken in at the Hempstead Town Animal Shelter – his “home” for all the months that followed.

Dawson has his own Facebook page (Dawson Needs A Family), and he has been networked on social media, but he continues to wait for someone to take notice of him, and then – take the official adoption plunge. On Thursday, a Facebook post was made to Dawson’s page; the post reads:

Dawson has lived in the shelter for 600 days. He is a really sweet soul who is very affectionate…he loves to just put his head on your lap. Yet, Dawson has spent well over a YEAR stuck the shelter, waiting for someone to come and take him home.   Dawson is a playful pup with a heart of gold 💛 He was found as a stray in 2015, and has lived at the shelter ever since. Hugs and kisses are Dawson’s specialty and he enjoys laying down at your feet.

Dawson is adored by the shelter staff and volunteers, but they want more for him – they would love nothing more than to see Dawson enjoying the comforts of a real home.

Please help Dawson find a family of his own by sharing his Facebook page and adoption information.
